Luísa Pessoa works with translations (English to Brazilian Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese to English) since 2012.
Until 2022, she worked as a (Senior) Localisation Specialist for Booking.com, where she provided translations for a variety of internal stakeholders with content news. She was also responsible for ensuring the consistency and quality of the translations provided, managing style guides, glossaries and conducting evaluation checks.
From 2016 until 2019, Luísa was the Translation and Adaptation Editor of BuzzFeed Brasil. There, her main duties and responsibilities were to bring the best of other editions – posts or videos – to the Brazilian audience, by selecting, reviewing and editing its translation. In 2.5 years or 30 months, she edited approximately 5.000 translated posts and generated more than 350 million views for the BF Brasil edition.
Between 2012 and 2016, Luísa was the local editor for The New York Times Internacional Weekly, published by the Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, being responsible for the selection and edition of its articles.
